Is the path to/from the throttle body critical/important in M20 water circulation pathways? ie does the TB have to be bypassed with a link pipe, or can the pipes at the back of the head and stat housing be blanked off as per M42? Would like to blank them off to tidy things up a bit if the pathway doesn't do anything for circulation. Thanks.

Anybody know? Or has anybody done it? What i'm asking really, is the water route back of head to TB to stat housing an integral part of the coolant flow, or is it only there to serve as a TB heater?

I've done this on mine - ran a single length of pipe from the outlet on the back of the block to the Thermostat housing rather than blanking them off.

Got the pipe from ebay - only a couple of quid IIRC.

Nickphine blocked them off on his 2.8L stroker build.

In my opinion, the flow way through the TB is so small (have you ever taken one apart) it does not effect circulation if it is removed.

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?
