Im working throughout the to do list on my cabby and noticed the headlight adjuster (the dial under the steering column) was not working. I have removed the unit and inspected it and quickly found the lines were full of water and the switch casing was cracked at the point where the lines join.

Is it worth trying to fix and repair this unit as I gather its NLA?

any comments would be welcome.

cheers

They were still available until quite recently, and still are AFAIK.
A better option is to convert to electric adjusters from the E34.

From the Wiki main page you click the "Lights" button. On that page is the Table of Contents, where you'll see THIS:

It's pretty hard to spot the little [1] pdf link in fairness :)

Any way to make it an image or transpose the text to the page?

That seems like a very good upgrade.

Much easier to start with E34 adjuster motors than E36 ones, since they are almost a direct replacement for the E30 hydraulic ones. Just requires a small mod to one of the three mounting tabs, IIRC.
The E34/E36 adjuster control can also be fitted to the E30 dash with a little ingenuity, but this doesn't have the OE look of the modified E30 adjuster in the wiki link.
