just want some info on how low i can go with out having to much trouble with speed bumps and scrubbing arches iv got 205 50 16 by 7j cades eros wheels what do u think i can go down by to have it sit nice and not have to many problems [/youtube]

I've got a 30mm drop all around with 17mm alpinas and I have to be careful, i've scraped the sump pan giving it a hairline crack and hit the exhaust a number of times until one of the metal hangers came off.
I would not go any lower than that.!
Remember also your car is old, put stiff springs on and you'll eventually shake the interior apart, lots of squeaks and rattles will ensue.!

i have bashed the sump x2 got away with it so far
one day i was following a skip waggon and half a house brick fell out of the skip i managed to steer to miss the sump but it gave the steering rack a good bash good job i wasnt driving too close to the waggon
as for the exhaust
every speed bump in the asda 
my exhaust is well scraped
how any body gets on with a 60mm drop i dont know

Don't get me wrong, a slammed car looks fookin ace in glossy car mags and what not. For everyday driving, nah. Iit will get old real fast, and you'll end up repairing stuff it over and over.. plus the comfort is zero, will be a really uncomfortable ride.

Any of you guys got any ideas on repairing a hair line crack in situ. It’s a pain to have to take the sump off! Also I bought some new engine mounts from GSF. They were about half an inch higher than the originals, I thought I had the wrong ones, put them on and they raised the lump which was handy for clearance, my e30 is dropped 60mm. Hits everything with the exhaust! But the raised engine mounts save the sump, unless you hit a Kurd like I recently did, hence the hairline crack. Wondering if there is some product I can seal the crack with.
