I have a lsd diff with no tag (took it of to clean up and lost it
)and would like to find out what ratio it is, the diff is out of the car now. is there a way of telling by turnning the input shaft ? It has 8 bolts holding the rear cover on if that helps ?

that helps in telling you (i think) that it is a large case diff.
U can do the trick of turing the output shafts
mark one of the outsput shafts, then turn the input shaft round and count how many times you have to turn the input to get a full rotation of the output. get me?
easier if you tell us what car it is off? it will be either 3.91,3.73 or 3.64 probably
