Hey people.
E36 318i (8v) auto compact on a W reg.
Overheating when in traffic. Fan not cutting in, but also, the fan wont cut in when the air con is turned on which i thought it should.
Can anyone advise whether this is a correct assumption and also, are there any fan control units to worry about complicating things?
Any advise greatfully recieved
Tom

Have you checked the fuses?
Fan should come on when the air con is turned on and there is normaly a two part temp sensor on the radiator that comes in at 92 degrees C to run the fans at low speed and then a second part of the sensor comes in at 99 degrees C to drive the fan at high speed.
I have a circuit diagram somewhere...I shall have to work out how to attach it here!
