my wife`s 320i cab has developed a vibration/knocking noise underneath, I drove it last week for it`s mot,and this week for a re test, it seemed worse last week but is never the less v. bad it is worse when cold and also when under load but lift off and coasting it`s not there, could it be the propshaft center bearing/mounting ? or the rubber driveshaft connection to the g/box ,or both! am i better replacing the mounting/ bearing is it straight forward, or obtaining another propshaft?

probably center prop bearing rubber has deteriorated causing it to knock around in the mounting.i had same problem with mine and turned out to be the prop bearing rubber had completely perished.i think gearbox rubber guibo has to be removed to drop the prop mount so replace both parts.both are pretty cheap.a garage charged me 170 pounds for parts and labour :)
