Hi guys,
i demolished the sump and oil pick up on my 318i. Its a two part sump. Do i need the oil pick up and sump from a 318i or are the parts from any of the e30 4 pots suitable? From what i understand most of them are single piece sumps, would that be ok or is there a reason mine has a two piece sump?
Thanks

316i, 318i (both M40 engines) and the 318iS (M42) all use the same two piece sump.
If you're just replacing the lower sump, check the bolts for the upper sump that are accessed through the lower sump. They often work loose and fall out.

Ok thanks. I need to replace both parts of the sump and the oil pick up as they are all smashed to sh*t
Got to find a way to get the thing out past the cross member first, and euro car parts dont even stock the oil pick up gasket
