Recently bought a 1989 325i convertible and am looking to get her chipped, there is a guy from the states selling on ebay and he gave a list of serial numbers for 325i ECU's however mine was not amongst them and as the whole of my electrics seem to suffer with extreme apathy I was wondering if i have the wrong ECU on board, can anybody help.
NUMBER IS 0 261 200 381.

381 is a 2.0 litre ECU, IIRC. think yours should be a 173 - If your engine is indeed a 2.5.
Think you need to check it really is a 2.5 before you do anything else.

How do i do that, it has 325 on the log book.
