Ok, I've had my '87 325i for about 6 weeks now, been doing a lot of maintenance, mainly to get it running sweet.
When I first got it, it ran rich, throttle response was crap, lumpy surging idle, it choked up when blipping the gas. Just wasn't how it should be.
This is where it's at now. It's still a little bit hesitant at low idle blips, kinda doe this when you blip it;p bu bum.. bu bum.
What you guys think? Still needs a little work?

No sound, so I haven't watched the clip!
Deal with air leaks, recon. the injectors and set the TPS up correctly, and there shouldn't be any hesitation.

Yeah done lots of stuff, air leaks, cleaning out AFM, throttle body, ICV, boots ect. Its 95% perfect. How do I set up the TPS? I thought it had no adjustments?

TPS must be set up to switch from the idle to the running map immediately the throttle leaves its stop. Any significant throttle movement before the switching occurs, and the engine will hesitate.
Conversely, it must reliably switch to the idle map when the throttle is on its stop.
TPS has slotted mounts for adjustment.

Ah yes this make a lot of sense to me as the engine doesn't hesitate at all then I blip the gas above 1k revs. Like you say its that transition between the idle map and running map that seems to stumble a little.
Is there a DIY on TPS adjustment?

Just take the complete throttle body off, turn it upside down and adjust it.

Assuming your butterfly is set correctly (I did mine with with a 0.0015 feeler gauge), you adjust the TPS mounting position by loosening the 2 phillips screws, make sure you get the click with as little movement from the throttle as possible. Do it correctly and the TPS will click from the idle to running map as soon as the butterfly moves.

Note that the feeler gauge method of setting the throttle stop is not the correct method (that needs a special tool), but is just a way of getting one that's been messed about with back somewhere in the ballpark.
If the throttle stop appears never to have been touched, then the best advice is not to touch it now either. It should never need adjustment.
