the car was running fine then i turned the ignition off and went to turn it back on and it didnt start or even look like it was going to start...the AA took the fuel line off and there was no fuel going through
ive looked at checking the fuel pump relays but i can see an orange, green and white one and i dont know what they all are for? what relay does what?
btw the car is a 90 325iS

Take the cover off the fusebox and check with a 12V lamp whether there is power at fuse 11 when the engine is being cranked. If you have the OE type of fuse their you can contact the fusewire while the fuse is in place, OR, remove fuse 11 completely, connect a piece of wir to the battery + terminal, and push the other end into the outer socket of fuse 11. Include a 7.5A or 10A fuse in this wire if possible.
This will provide a permanent power feed to your fuel pump, bypassing all relays and controllers, so if you turn the key, the engine should start and run as normal. If it doesn't, most likely your fuel pump is dead.

fuse 11 is fine? there is no need to add 12v there surely? does this fuse come before or after the relays?

I wasn't expecting fuse 11 to be blown.
The fuse is the last thing before the pump. Do one or other of the tests as I described, and I will tell you what's wrong with your car.
