Hi,

I have a 316i lux.

Can the power be improved - without swapping the engine.

ecu change?, can the heads be changed ie from 1.6i to 1.8i or 2.oi

Thanks

Just nos it. Then when the engine goes boom, replace it with a m50/m52...

The only other head that will fit is the 1.8i one - and that's identical anyway.
The only way to get any serious extra power out of it is to strap a big snail shaped thing to the exhaust side of it.

Small power gains will cost big money.

Cheapest way to more power is get it running perfectly through servicing with quality parts and maintenance to get it running to factory spec.

Not worth spending money on "modifications" - you're better off with an engine swap if its a solid shell.
