I did quite a lot of research into heated seat elements, after a lot of research I went with the Waeco magic comfort MSH 100 carbon ones. They aren't cheap at about 100 quid though. There are plenty of kits out there a lot cheaper but I wanted something that was good quality and after inspecting the kit I was very impressed with the quality. I'm just in the process of having them fitted to my leather sport seats. I would have fitted them myself but as I needed some leather work doing I asked the bloke to fit them while he was at it. Also I'm sure he'll do a better job than me. I'll have to wait and to find out how they perform though, but the carbon ones are supposed to heat up very quickly.

The Kit from BMW which includes all 4 elements, 2 switches and the loom was about £300 plus vat last time checked.
The loom and switches are easy to fit but the elements require the seats to be stripped down.
Pete has stripped and rebuilt many E30 seats. Worth PM'ing him.
