quick one, drum and disc handbrake cables
Moderator: martauto
i think i know what your asking so here goes on a car fitted with drum brakes the hand brake cable acts on the shoes that are used for normal braking, on a car fitted with rear discs the cable is acting on 2 small shoes that press on the inside of the disc itself so the connections are also different
I done a disc conversion on my 316 a while ago, and the connections are different and if iirc there is a slight difference in length. If your gona do a conversion you also have to change the brake line as the drum ones are shorter. I made this mistake and ended up making copper extension but i don't think it will pass NCT (MOT)
What has actually happened is , I have changed the cable, however even if I adjust it right up at the brake end there is still way to much slack in the cable, I have discs. So I was wondering if I have been given the wrong cable, I.e longer
