I fitted six Bowh 4-points spark plags in my car only two months ago and one of them seems to misfire a little bit, any experiences related to these anyone ?? Are they the right ones for our cars ?

multi point spark plugs are no better than decent standard plugs. I'd advise fitting std plugs.

why is it then that they are recommended by BMW ??? although the performance is better - smoother when I fitter them on mine - they seem to fail earlier ?? I thought Bosh wouldn't launch something technically wrong...

Ive heard a few 'horror stories' about multi point plugs, where one of the points breaks away and bounces around the cylinder until the damage is done.

Because there is 3 other points to keep firing there arent really any signs that anything is wrong. At least with a normal single point plug, if it breaks the fact the engine will be a cylinder down is a bit of a clue that something is wrong.

I dont know anyone who uses the 4 point plugs, but it happened to my brothers old housemate with the Splitfire V plugs. Luckily they were fitted by a garage during a service and they accepted responsibility for the damage because he hadnt asked for the V plugs.

IMO its something I would stay away from and get standard plugs.

That sounds really really bad, as one of them apparently is misfiring in mine, I am a bit worried now ...

Suddenly I am not feeling so well...

Sorry mate, didnt mean to worry you, I could of put it more delicately :?

Its just Ive read on the net about people having problems and having seen the hassle my brothers housemate went through, I thought Id better share the experience.

Chances are yours are ok as theyve only been in the car 2 months - his were a good 10 months old and had seen a bit of abuse.
Have you checked to see if one has come loose or the condition of the leads? I did have problems with one of the leads connecting to the plug, but that was noticeable as soon as I started the car.
Might be worth pulling the plugs out and checking for any damage though - better safe than sorry.

That's the thing, I haven't got the spanners for the job with me and outside its dark and cold, but I am doing it DEF tomorrow. I am glad you shared the story, I think its good that someone gave a review about them in case that there are more spark plugs misbehaving out there...

My car RUNS, but as you say is better safe than sorry cheers mate

Its not a BM but i had them in my golf and they were brilliant, no hassle. They were in there for about 50000km's and when i changed them they looked good. Take them back to the place that sold them to you and tell them its a dud, they should change it.
