i got told today that instead of welding my diff i can pull a pin out and it will drop down and lock its self anyone no anymore about this? cheers

I think you've been misinformed.
Since you possibly drive on the same roads that I do, note that no insurance company will knowingly insure a road going E30 with a welded diff. If you do this on a road car, you will be uninsured.

its not on the road used for track just trying to find out if this would work before i pay someone to weld my diff lol
