All I know is that I have always put Blue in my BMW's. I get mine from GSF, made by Febi, which are the supplier/manufacturers to BMW IIRC

I don't think there is a problem with mixing (but I'm not a chemist OR mechanic), but the best 'thing' to put in (I have been told) is always Ethylene Glycol. It is an excellent anti-freeze, and also VERY good at keeping corrosion away at all times of the year.

IIRC, the blue is suitable for diabetics and the green is gluten free.
