Bit of advice please....

I have a slight whine coming from the front drivers side wheel bearing. Is there a write up on how to change this anywhere? or can someone tell me how easy (or not!) it is to do....any specialist tools required.

Thanks in advance 8O

32mm socket required. very strong breaker bar with a massive extension and lots of strength. Other than that its one of the easiest jobs to do.

pretty easy mate. it's worth a mention that the abs and non-abs bearings are interchangeable. Pretty easy job. along lines of.

off with wheel,
off with caliper
off with brake disk (5mm allen head bolt)
off with heat shied thingy
pop of centre dustcap on
push out little bits of bent metal (what are they called?)
blast it with the breaker bar
hub nut off,
bearing off

pack in extra grease and do reverse operation.

that's ottomh but it was quite easy. not sure how important it is to get the exact torque setting on the hub nut but I did have a torque wrench so I dunno...

I reckon that's about it. I'm sure if I've missed anything important somebody will put us straight :)

Did one on a saxo at the weekend, bit of a balls to get out but got there eventually. Eventually had to use a press to press the old bearing out and pop the new one in

i just took the dust cap off, put the wheel back on, lowered the car again.

And well undoing the 36mm nut is a piece of p!ss as all the weight of the engine helps, but u might still struggle as your 1.6 weighs nothing!

Doing it this way....... 20mins a side easy when u know how!

Just to clarify, is it a 36mm or a 32mm socket I need? I think the largest I have is 32mm.

Thanks
