A few years ago, a car crashed into a telephone pole near me, causing considerable damage to the pole and car, but none of any note to the driver.
The unsecured battery in that car was ejected by the force of the crash, flew across the road, cleared the roof of a two storey house alongside the road, then crashed clean through the roof of a caravan parked behind the house, cutting a neat battery shaped hole on the way, and finally came to rest on the floor of the caravan.
Get it secured properly!
