i am part way through a retro fit to a facelift cab.i see posts about how they operate and i am confused "it operates every 5th cycle" is this the case across the range or do later cars differ as i cant see the point of having to wash the windscreen 5 times for it to work when fitting a modified arm on the steering column it should work when you push the "s" in on the end.i understand that the relay on the washer bottles controls it but have also been told that on the intesive wash system you also need a different relay in the fuse box that has 2 extra pins on it .
having fitted the stalk i find it has 6 wires but at the plug that it connects to has only 4 so the arm at this point is useless what is missing
i have the double washer bottles the 3 pumps and the correct loom and relay as well as the wiper motors
so what do i need or do they differ do the early cars need to be operated 5 times to work and the late ones operate by the stalk or are they all the same
do i need a extra part to my loom or can i make it to connect the stalk
thanks in advance

The working every 5th time applies to the headlight washers. Intensive wash on the screen will work every time you push the stalk. The relay on the washer bottle is for the headlamp washers.
I think that you will need the the relay in the fuse box with extra pins on. I think I've got one in the shed - so make me an offer if you're interested.
At a guess I'd say that you need the extra couple of conections to the stalk - they probably link up some how to the extra pins on the relay.... Not sure what you'd need though.
Hope that helps a bit
