Hi,

I have recently had my car in for the sunroof drains to be repaired. To carry out the repair it was necessary to remove the rear screen and when trying to refit the screen the bodyshop had some problems in that they couldn't get the screen to sit high enough. They called in a specialist auto glass company and were advised that the rubber had shrunk over time and was not able to hold the screen in place. Has anybody else experienced this and if so can anybody advise where to get new rubber without paying main dealer prices.

Thanks,

Steve.

Even if the rubber had shrunk, I can't see how the screen wouldn't fit. You'd just end up with a gap between the two ends of the seal, which can be filled by adding a very short extra piece of seal from a scrapper.
