Cab roof not working

Hi, collecting a e30 cab tomorrow, owner says electic roof not working. What should i look at first? Are there any known fault?
First convertible and no nothing about hoods :?

check the electric motor

First thing has got to be the casing on the hood motor, inside the horse shoe. It usually shears off or the bars bend. Not the end of the world though, could be anything though. I take it the motors are disconnected in order to lift the roof by hand?

Thanks all, and yes motor/s, is there two? are disconnected because roof can be lifted by hand , will have a good look on weekend, cheers
