instrument lighting colours

does ANYONE know if you can change the colours of the various orange bits of the speedo etc?

id liek a different colour without getting El ones

anyone done it?

I dont think its easy as the colour comes not only from the screen on the bulbs but also the cards. I would try some LEDS in there first.

andrew, was poking around an old set of clocks i had and tried to peel the black face off to put white faces in (i know they say you dont need to)

and the orange seems to be part of the backing of the black face if that makes sense to you.

sits on a clear bit of plastic... is that all that makes them orange? :D

WEll there are two screens, one on the front face (the black bit) then over the bulbs there is a dome shaped thing which is also orange. But LEDS are the best way to go.

excellent... im trying to get that blue dial red needle effect as on later golfs :roll: (god help me)

i have ordered some super bright 8000 mcd LED's from usa... think they will do the job ?

i will post pics when im done , sure it isnt going to be up the the standard of yourself the modfather but ill try :D
