Have a problem with idling and was wondering if anyone can help. The car starts and drives great, problem is rough idle. I've read a few articles on what to check, I disconected the ICV and the car stalled so reconnected it and started fine. I disconected the Air flow meter and this had no effect, car still idled rough but exactly the same as when it was connected. Does this mean the air flow meter isnt working?
Cheers

Disconnecting the AFM should have very little effect at idle.
Your problem is likely to be an air leak into the inlet system. Have you checked that there is a cap on the end of a small rubber hose emerging from under the throttle body?

Cheers, will have a look and see. Is there any truth in the battery having an effect on idling? Ive read that a flat battery can cause rough idle, Just asking cos my battery is dead, I only charge it when im going to start the car as its off the road at the moment.

If a battery has failed in such a way that it is failing to stabilise and smooth the output from the alternator, all kinds of strange things may happen with the cars electronics.
