new problem now

fitted the new fuel pump ,car now starts great,now,when you turn off the engine the rev counter moves up to 1000 rpm and the economy gauge moves to about halfway,all go back to normal when ignition is turned on,does anybody have any ideas? :?

Hi there, I believe it will be a problem with the SI board. I have had two cars do the needle flip on the rev counter for years without ill effects. Glad your cars running now :)

thanks for putting my mind at rest,I thought it could have been the reason for the fuel pump packing in :eek:

just thought when the needles move they stay at 1000 rpm and eco gauge at about halfway and when ignition is switched on they return to their correct positions,its not a flip up and back down if thats what you mean?
