I'm sure this has been covered before and i think i know what the answer is, but just in case there's something i've missed, i'm going to post it anyway.
The inspection light on my dash wont go off, even though i've tried several times with the Draper reset tool as prescribed. This works ok on my other car.
So, is it the SI board battery?
Are these easy to replace?
Inspection light wont go off

Almost certainly the batteries. Early boards have NiCd batteries, later ones have Lithium, which don't usualy give trouble anyway.
Best to check before you order them. If one of them has leaked and corroded the copper tracks, then the board may be scrap.
Job's easy enough if you know one end of a soldering iron from the other.

Cheers Brian,
How do you get to the board though? Haven't looked in any detail yet, but there's no obvious screws to get behind the dash.

Pete, you need to pop the cluster out.
Remove the under dash panel above the pedals, then you need to remove the trim panel above the steering cowling. Feel up behind the panel and you will find two off knurled thumb nuts, remove the nuts and pop the panel off.
This will expose 4 off screws to be removed from the bottom of the cluster, two silver, the others black. Now look up at the top of the cluster, there are two more screws holding the cluster to the underside of the dash binnacle, remove these...
Twist the top of the cluster back into the dash, you need to now fiddle about and remove the 2 or 3 wiring connectors (3 if you have OBC) the cluster can be normally removed if the steering wheel is left in place, slide the cluster out from the left hand side, over the indicator stalk.
Remove the 10 or so screws around the back of the cluster, pull the two halves apart and hey presto there is the SI PCB at the bottom.
Believe me, it's an easy job, it takes longer to type about it than it does to do the job.
Enjoy
