Hello all Since i bought the car 2 years ago (1989 e30 316i) there has been an increasingly loud ticking sound comming from inside the block of the engine. The tick starts after the car has been warming up for a minute or so and continues for the first 5 minutes of the car trip, until the car warms up. And every so often the tick comes back and i often press the clutch in let it idle for a second and the noise goes away only to come back again..The tick it also more violent on colder morning and as you accelerate becomes louder.
Im also wondering could the ticking and tapping noise be the injectors because when it taps really loudly the car starts to missfire and lacks in power...
