It's on the sticker on the N/S strut tower, it will also have the colour name too, it's usually a 3 figure number, sometimes followed by a / and another number, for updated paint colours.

I doubt it, and I've found the halfords own stuff is never quite right anyway, dealer would be your best bet, give them the paintcode too, as allthough the colour name will stay the same, the shades can vary slightly, hence the last digit after the 3 digit number, I paid about Ԛ£6 for a decent sized spray can from the dealers.peanut wrote:thanks very much for that. Halfords sell Holts paint and it can be made up if it isn't on the shelf.
Slightly cheaper than the dealer cos you get slightly more paint for the same dosh...
I've used it and it is a pretty good match, bearing in mind that paint finishes will fade over time and even the BMW paint won't necessarily be an exact match if your paint has faded a little..

Get yourself down to a bodyshop, they mix the paint for you for less than Halfords. Also they guys are doing it for a living, not just some wee tech who's been shown to do it once.... not that Halfords are like that, eh?
'89 325i - was an SE but not anymore, was bronze-beige metallic (yeuch!) but now techno-violet (thankfully)
