I had a similar problem and I used a 12mm spacer to clear the caliper. Standard offset is 24mm so 24 +12 = 36mm - does that sound right?

So are standard e30 wheel at an offset of 24mm? i think I would need about 30 - 32mm ish. hmmm...

or should I just get some hubcentric spacers?

When I used a 12mm spacer the tyre was outside the arch on 205/55/15s. If you use a 30mm spacer your going to be way outside unless the arch is rolled.

Ideally you need a spacer to move the wheel away from the caliper then a wheel with more offset so it goes back under the wheel arch. Or bin the Mazda parts and contact KeriWMS on here.

Would make it 12mm as you are reducing the offset :)

The 7" wheels have that offset. If I remember aright, standard wheels (6") have an offset of 35 and the optional 6.5" wheel is 30.

so if I had some 7.0x17" 4x100 ET38 sized wheels would that solve my issue?

15mm spacer would look better IMO, that would make the wheels ET23

The size of the spacers depends not only on the offset, but on the shaping of the rim itself. 7x15 BMW Cross Spokes will fit with the mentioned spacers, size 15mm. I've tried MIM Cross Spokes as well. Same size, quite similar design. They don't fit with the the mazda caliper.

A 7x17 with 215/40/17 will surely fit with an effective offset up to 15.
