I replaced my bulbs with LED's the weekend and it made no difference to the brightness of the screen any ideas people? do the bulbs have to be 6v to work?! what happens if i get 12v are they too much for it?!

Don't quite understand what you're saying.
The OE bulbs are 5V each and connected in series. If you replace them with LEDs they will need to be connected in parallel with series connected resistors.
