Guys, I'm looking for a wheel upgrade (presently running skinny steels with hubcaps and 175/70 14'' tyres).

I'm less concerned with cosmetics than having more rubber (ie grip) on the tarmac. Can I go up to 16'' for example easily? I know the offset is 4x100, can anyone recommend some reasonably priced bigger wheels (I would not even mind larger steels, though I understand E36 have five stud so not interchangeable).

Thank you.

If you have steels now then bottlecaps would be an easy (and very cheap) upgrade, though not larger.

Sorry mate, could you explain further? I am really looking for more rubber on the road though, I can really feel the skinny contact patch when cornering

Good old e30 15" bbs wheels :)
get you up to 205 50 15 and make a nice improvement. Although I had a set of 14" bbs's on my old e30 and that handled really well.

4x100 is your bolt pattern

your best bet is a nce set of 15" OE BBS wheels, they should be fitted with 205/55 but 50 profle is an option.

good, inexpensive and will provide plenty of grip
