e30 318i starting problem

i was messing around with my fog light switch the other day and then sudenly the car stopped working, i turn the key and the dash lights are on but flicker now and again and when i go to the crank position the lights go dim like its trying to fire but no starter motor movement or anything ive tried shorting out the starter motor and that still turns and ive checed the fuses in the engine bay i need help on this one

and btw incase its relevent its getting started off a screw driver as the barel is fucked (little plastic conections part from behind barel removed and using a screw driver to turn that it worked before)

mate check how much power the battery's putting out. Also check your earths one may have come loose
