my speedo is dead??

my speedo was playin up there for a while, it wud read the speed and then drop to zero, it now appears to have died and just stays at zero when im driving, is this a major problem and wud it be hard to fix??cheers-brendan

most likely due to the failure of the sensor unit on the diff or the wires that feed the sensor unit.

Either rape one from a scrapper, making sure you cut the one off the scrapper with plenty of wire on it and then splice in to the old wiring, making a sure you have a good connection. Alternatively, use the connector and wires from front fog lights as the connector unit is the same and the wiring will possibly be in better shape.

If that don't work then it may be electrical gremlins but speedo wire/ connector plug is the usual culprit.
