Hi everybody my name is Marc-Andre. i am a new owner of a bmw 318is 1991 in quebec. So maybe is a dumb question but is it possible to put a 6 gear tranny on its ow that can cost and where i can get it.
so thaks alot guys you got the best forum i can found.

6th in the 6 speed is the same ratio as 5th on the M20 5 speed (approx 0.8:1). All you would have is an extra gear lower down.
I guess you could combine this with a different diff ratio, but it's probably not worth the trouble of messing with the gear linkage etc.
If gearing is such an issue, just change it to an M3 diff or similar.
