I have an e36 rack conversion.
So much better, lock to lock. BUT...........
Over 50 MPH the steering is very twichy and light.
Gets so bad that you dont want to go over 70.
Every thing except the tie rods has been replaced on the front end and the tie rods seem OK.
Anyone else had this with the conversion?
Help and advice please..........
P.S. Not that I would ever drive faster than 70MPH, officer.
Loose feeling steering

Do you still have a rubber guibo in the steering coupling?
Youth is wasted on the young.
Thanks for advice.
Had all 4 wheels balanced yesterday - all 4 were out - only did them a month ago.
had toe in set to 2mm
on the motorway today - a lot, lot better
I am going to change tie rods next week anyway, so this should remove the last little bit of play
Thanks all.

Luxorbeige and proud of it!
You say you had the toe in set to 2mm, I was always told to set it to toe out 2mm for better handling and heavier/responsive steering. The company that set up my old 325 told me that and it was nice in the corners with no lightening of the steering at any speed.
