Tyre Choice?

I expect this topic may have been covered but was wondering what tyre size is best for the 15" bbs wheels on my touring. It currently has 205 55 15 but they look kinda too big and fat although that may be down to them being elcheapos by the previous owner.

205/55/15 is the correct size.

You can go 205/50/15 for a sharper feel, but unless the car is lowered they look a bit lost in the arches with the smaller profile tyres

205/55 fills the arch nicely on unlowered, 195/50 or 205/50 are about the same prices IIRC and a fair bit cheaper then the 205/55's but like beemerlad said they'd create a more distinguishable gap (especially the front arch) unless it's been lowered a tad.
