If the head gasket goes on a 2.5, does this mean that in reality the head is damaged?
What are the symptoms of a cracked head as opposed to a blown head gasket?
The car I am collecting has been diagnosed with head gasket failure by the RAC. so what are the chances the head is shot?
Plus lastly, will the head from an e30 323i fit a 2.5?
Thanks

Usually the head survives a blown gasket but get it checked out by a specialist when it's off the car to be sure.

The 325i head has a unique combustion chamber and piston shape, any other M20 head will clash with the pistons and the engine won't turn over.
