Electric Aerial

My electric aerial sounds like it is going up when i turn the ignition on (but its not) and going down when i turn the ignition off (but its not) I manually pulled the aerial up and it comes all the way out, when its trying to go up I can feel the aerial vibrating but not actually moving. Is this a common problem, what do I need to fix?

Sounds like the teeth have stripped off the motor..

You can buy a replacement Hirschman Electric aerial from Ebay for about 30 quid these days

Binning yours and fit a new one would be the best route

Well you can get replacement parts for electric aerials but by the time youve mucked about you might as well have changed it!
