E36 rack swap, are E30 tie rods needed?

Need technical Q/A then you're in the right place

When I swapped the E36 rack into my chromie I just bolted the job lot up complete with the E36 inner & outer tie rods.

No dramas with fitting etc.

I've heard a few mention that they fitted the E30 inner & outer tie rods to the E36 rack. Is this actually necessary?

Cheers

I used E30 TREs when I did mine.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

I used New E30 ones as the ones that came attached to the E36 rack were of unknown age/condition
