So...I haven't had my 323i too long but the inspection light has been on for awhile. Is this something I should be worrying about or does it just come on to say it's time for a check up. Can I reset it?

Its time for the annual service - it could be an inspection 1 or 2 depending on what was done at the last service. You should get it done to keep the car in tip top condition.
When you've done the work you can reset the lights either by buying a special tool or following these instructions....
