been offered another one on PX - its an 86 325i - my question is firstly are 325's the same as 320 (i.e. pre 88 were they jetronic rather than mo?) and also when did to model change from having the 2vc style softop frame (baur was it?) to the full conv model as pictues in the forum header above?
cheers!!!!!

I think I'm about right in saying that the first factory cab's came out in '86. At first this was the 325 only, then a year or so later 320 was launched, and by 89 the 318 with the later M40 1.8 engine from the E36 was launched. As far as I'm aware the Baur TC conversion was available throughout the life of the E30, but as more and more factory variants became available, orders for the Baur dropped off.
Can't help you on the fuel injection questions, sorry.

As far as I'm aware, the 318 didn't come out till the plastic bumper'd convertibles were made in 90/91.
Baur carried on making conversions until the end, but this wasn't a facory car.

super - thanks lads.
it seems this is an 86 325 factory version so ive took it in as a bit of a gamble.
so, is the world of 325's the same as 320's in as much as pre 88 chrome bumper had jetronic?
cheers,
