I have the 2.7 eta head from the 525e motor that I will be using for the 2.7 conversion and have decided to use this head instead of the late 320i head off my existing car.
I have drilled out the oil feed holes for the cam bearings and will be grinding out the inlet and exhaust ports to suit.
However, I have the gaskets to use as a starting point but dont fancy taking off the manifolds on the 2 litre head to see how the port is shaped.
So I am asking if anyone has a late '731' casting 320i head lying around and would be kind enough to photograph the ports to give me an idea of their shape.
I will be starting to port this head today on night shift so speed is of the essence dudes.
Oh and before anyone asks the 2 reasons for taking this route are :
1. I only have 10 days to perform the complete engine/gearbox/diff swap and the head will be away having 3 angle valves/seats for about 8 days.
2. I want to keep the 2 litre engine intact 'just in case'.
Cheers,
Iain T
