ive had few issues with my car mainly a little bit of misfiring ive had new tappets and changes dizzy cap, spark plugs, ht leads and rotor arm and still i get his minor idle lumpiness aswell as well as little farts lol from the exhaust ........any way the spark plugs that i had a wire running round the back coming from number 3 lead,where i dont know i took it all off and replaced with new ones.....so questions are

1)what is the wire and is it a problem if it is diconnected?
2)if it is a prob where can i get the leads from?
3)why oh why is it still doing this misfiring business?

Was the lead the same colour as the leads themselves, Black?
If so, then it is essential, goes to the front of the engine if yours is a lte car, to the crank sensor for your timing.

Normally the signal wire is on lead one isn't it?

Did you check what was on the other end of your mystery lead/wire?

sorry your right it ,but i cant understand when i bought the new ones why it didnt come on it(the wire splits off one of the ht leads )

you most likely have a toblerone cam :( is your car lacking power ?

the pulse sensor doesn't really do much,

yeah little it feels like its lagging a bit? so that wire is defo a crank sensor the one thats splits off, can i scource them from anywhere?
