right, as per usual the e30`s achillies heel has reared its ugly head once more and appeared as a no central locking problem.
ive taken out the c/l unit and found a bit of water in the end however im not sure that this is the problem.
im getting a constant reading between the black(at the control box) and the yellow and blue at the solonoid
im getting a reading between the black (at the control box) and the green and blue at the solonoid when atempting to un-lock
the two relays are clicking at lock request, first the one nearest the connection block then the other one.
as far as i can see this should be locking, right?
ive tried a second solonoid and it doesnt change anything......help!!!
central locking........again

I found water in my c/l controller and "isolated" the problem with a spare one I got from a friend. The other controller didn't help - just kept clicking.
It turned out that the water that got into the c/l controller and had caused it to burn out all 6 c/l motors in my Touring.
Replaced all motors for about Ԛ┚¬50 on Ebay and now all is well. Door contact plug might be your problem but I'd say you might need to test with a known good door motor.

My Tourer has done the same thing apparently, burned out all solenoids. By the way, 6? I know there are 5 doors........ah, just answered my own question......filler flap!
Any advice on getting the door cards off the rear doors with the doors deadlocked and unopenable? Also, I hear that the Tourer front doors are a bugger for access to the solenoids, any advice for me?!

Yeah, I meant solenoids.
If you need to replace any, beware of the color coding of these as the colour is different for each of the front doors, rear doors etc. It has to do with deadlocking.

if i was you i would disconnect all the solenoids then plug in your test solenoid to the relevant door because if all the solenoids have burnt out which is possible they could be causing a short back to the c/d/l control unit which will confuse it
