Just wondering what the sensor is on a standard diff on my 91 320i SE its not oil level as its set to high to be for that?
also, should you know by sound that your e30 has a diff? i know they shouldn't whine but does a lsd add a noticable sound to the drivetrain?
much appreciated

Hi Liam,

Kevin here. The sensor on the back is for the rev counter. There is a simple push fit connector into the sensor. However, the wires at the end of the connector are prone to breaking when the connector is disturbed, but it's easy to fix.

Ooops, yes the sensor is for speedo. I should have remembered this since the connector wire broke just before I sold the car and I had to go out to the guys house to fix it after he bought the car.

Don't think it would be fair for me to comment on sound, better to get impartial feedback from some of the other E30zoners.
