My 85 323i baur has a oil level led light that will not go out and the check light will not stop flashing. oil level in fine and on start up oil pressure switch light staight out!!
have dis-connected level switch oil led still on!!
bridged connector wires out still no joy
there is a live feed on one of the cables to the level switch
have tried another led unit by mirror still no joy
any one now how this thing works or now how to check???

It's a reed switch and is difficult to by-pass.
Best option is to replace the sender unit.
