Right, after sorting the air lock I had, I took the car on a 10 mile drive. Pretty close to my destination I noticed a fairly loud intermittant squeeking noise coming from under the centre of the car near to my seat, so box/prop area.
I pulled over and noticed a regular amount of oil dripping from under the engine, plus lots of hot oil smoke. Most of it seems to be coming from around the base of the dipstick tube at the sump (I lost the seal for this after doing several sump changes a couple of months back). I can find a seal for this, my main issue is all the oil spurting out, implying there is positive pressure in the crankcase...
question is: where are the crankcase breathers? I'm guessing the squeeking was caused by oil getting onto something it shouldn't have, bit of a long shot, but any ideas what that could be?

Thanks Dan, I'll take a look.
Just checked the oil level, and it doesn't seem to have dropped anywhere near as much as the level of leakage I witnessed lead me to believe. My dad came up with the idea that it might only be a leak when cornering - meaning the oil moves to one side and escapes. Sounds pretty plausible given the 3 bends before coming into the village. The squeeking/rattling noise scares the sh1t out of me though.
I'm going to try and drive it home now, not taking any corners too fast, and see what the damage is after...

Ok, by taking right-handers very slowly on the way home the squeaking has pretty much stopped, and I don't seem to have lost much more oil. Perhaps it is just the lack of a bung? Any ideas as to where to get one? (no dealers near me, and the closest ones won't deliver)

Realoem says the O ring is 14.5mm diameter and 3mm thickness so anywhere that sells O rings should have something close enough to do the job
