will an e36 diff (LSD) fit an e30 316 lux?

basically not wothout modifications, thje first of which will be swapping the engine to something that can drive an E36 diff as they will most likely be of a ratio your 1.6 will not move!

if ya just putting a 2.5 in why not just put in a diff from a e30 2.5 car?
plus lsds are expensive
welding diffs aint clever they can be really twitchy and in the wet i wouldnt like to drive a car with a welded diff never know what its gonna do

hey m8 when i done my 2.5 conversion i had a 1.6 welded diff in it and it broke after a week do to bad welding done then i got a 1.8 diff and welded it i had no prob driving the car had the welded diff in the car for 10months whit daily driving
the drive shafts will be 100% as they are all the same from 1.6 up but you can still end up braking them whit the stress of the weld as i broke 3 over the 10 months..the down side to the welded diff if that your rear bushings wont last too long and you are bound to brake the bolts that hold the drive shafts to the diff a alot of times best bet is to upgrade them to the strong black bolts..
ross2009 is right when driving in wet conditions you have to take care on corners as it can step out.
it ends up been a pain when driving around the town as it skips alot and when parking well i gave up parking untill i got me lsd
if i had the chance to to go back the first thing i would do is get a lsd as i would of saved a good few pound
