ive been told by a couple of different people that as im running so much power(cosworth stage 3, 330-340bhp) that i would be better removing the abs system so i can regain full control as it tends to cut in a bit early,is this a job i can do myself as im quite handy with the spanners, and whats involved in the job? i also could do with the extra space left for the induction kit, and is swapping one of the inner headlights for an air intake illegal?

I took one inner headlight out about a year ago but don't know if it is illegal so I would like to find out.

Taking one inner headlamp is definitely illegal. Taking both out is legal, as long as you fit the outer lamps with a dip/main beam set up.
If my understanding of the new MOT rules is correct, you may run into problems if you remove the ABS, as the computer will say your car has ABS, and will expect the warning lamps to do as they should. (ABS itself is not testable.)
