headbolt change.
Moderator: martauto
right I'm going to be fitting my engine back in this week ive got a fresh belt to fit before I drop it in but what I'm looking advice on is.. my engine still has the hex headbolts in I got a new set from adit with the torx heads so to change them what is the correct process ?
the main thing im needing to know is.. can I change them without lifting the head off or will I need a gasket?BigBroom wrote:Top left ,bottom right, top right ,bottom right and so on

yup, take 1 out, put one in and do all stages of torquing it down. move on to the next bolt.
fingers crossed you get away with it. if i starts using water and having mayo on the underside of the oil cap.......... you didnt get away with it.

I Did mine one for one and had no problems. Just check by hand that none are sitting in there broken already, you would hate to get half way through and realise that one is broken. The new bolts are one use only stretch bolts.
