I want to install a switch to cut the power of the fuel pump, like an anti-thieft. What cable type should I use? I hope not to start a fire because of a too thin cable which melted...
Any suggestion about where to put it, so it can't be seen easily?

Cable doesn't need to be particularly heavy. The middle size found in an E30 is about right. Wire you are looking for is green/violet. Use a rear window heater switch, polish off the legend on it and stick it in one of the spare blanks on the dash. Thief very unlikely to work out what its for.

the wire you need runs along pass. sill, cut the wire and run each end up to a blank switch on the dash above radio
